Gliding Toward Their First Competition: A New Synchronized Skating Team Takes Shape
A brand-new Adult synchronised ice skating team has been making waves since its launch in January 2025. Bringing together a group of passionate skaters eager to try something new, the team has been training hard every week to master the precision, teamwork, and artistry that synchronised skating demands.
In just a few short months, they’ve built strong foundations both on and off the ice. Training sessions have focused not only on perfecting technical elements but also on learning to skate as one cohesive unit which is a skill that requires trust, timing, and hours of practice. Already, the skaters have made impressive progress: they’re three-quarters of the way through choreographing their debut three-minute routine, set to music that blends energy, elegance, and emotion.
For all of the team members, this is their first taste of synchronised skating. Their enthusiasm and commitment has shone through, and each practice brings new milestones such as nailing a tricky transition, or simply building confidence in skating as a group.
The team is now working toward their first-ever competition; Skate LDN which is set to take place at Lee Valley Ice Centre in November. With just a few months to go, the countdown is on to polish the routine, sharpen synchronisation, and bring performance flair to the ice.
While the competition will be a big step, the journey itself has been just as important. Friendships have grown, teamwork has flourished, and the skaters have discovered the thrill of moving in harmony to music!
