A Fantastic Weekend at the Hop Skip & Jump

This weekend, my pupils took part in the exciting Hop Skip and Jump ice skating competition at Lee Valley Ice Centre. The event welcomed beginner skaters of all ages, creating a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.

There were a wide variety of categories for the skaters to take part in, allowing each competitor to experience the feel of a real competition without all the stress of having a big panel to perform in front of. Events ranged from forward and backward lemons to more advanced elements such as jump, spin and spiral. Some skaters also performed programmes to music, adding creativity and personality to their routines.

I was incredibly proud of all my pupils who took part. Their hard work, dedication and determination truly paid off, with the team bringing home an amazing two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.

It was wonderful to see the skaters grow in confidence, support one another and enjoy the experience of competing. The weekend was a fantastic celebration of beginner ice skating, and I am extremely proud of every single one of my pupils who participated in Hop Skip and Jump.
