Synchronized Skating

What is synchronised skating?

Synchronised skating is a fast-paced and highly competitive team sport involving 8-16 skaters who move around the ice together creating formations to music.

Synchronised skating teams will very often skate as a unit in holds so they are joined (but sometimes without) and will create circles, lines, blocks, wheels and other elements to make up a full routine.

Routines will be choreographed to have a theme and the team’s skaters will need to flow in unison and with neat footwork, all in time to the music.

Synchronised skating is one of the fastest growing aspects of ice skating and is a wonderful discipline to become a part of.

Who can take part?

Anybody that is NISA Skate UK Level 8 or above! We have four competing teams at Lee Valley that you could potentially skate for depending on age and level. One of our teams is an adult team and has no upper age limit.

If you are interested in becoming part of a Synchronised skating team and would like to give it a try please contact me for more information.
